We are excited to gather once again in honor of Kevin Mitchell and to support the scholarship fund that continues his legacy. On May 14, 2022 we lost a huge part of our hearts, Kevin Mitchell, was 59 years old when he left our world, with an aggressive form of cancer. He was a devoted husband, father & friend.
​
Kevin only fought the battle for 6 weeks from when he was diagnosed. Kevin was so brave and fought so hard. Kevin needs to always be remembered for his kindness, generosity and commitment to his hometown, Vernon NJ.
​
It was Kevin’s nature to greet everyone with his warm smile and kind words. He was a person who put family and friends first. Kevin co-owned the TRACKS DELI, in Vernon NJ which is called the “ hometown deli” for a reason. He donated countless gift cards, donations etc. for all that ever asked.
The Tracks Deli was honored as Hometown heroes for providing free meals to anyone who needed it during the pandemic. At one point they were providing 40 meals per day to the elderly population. This continued for over 450 days straight.

Kevin spent his free time coaching many youth sports for many years, even after his own kids had moved on to high school sports. This is why his family has established The KMMAS Foundation a nonprofit that will be giving out The Kevin Mitchell Memorial Athletic Scholarship this year to scholar/athletes at Vernon Township High School.Because of the community’s generosity we were able to present 10 scholarships five to the class of 2023 and five to the class of 2024.
